United Kingdom

Hello Everyone :=)

Yah it has been a while since I wrote here, that’s because sometimes I’m lazy to write or I’m busy! I hope I can summarize what happened the last few months in this post.

Well after my birthday it was a bit busy, since I was getting ready to apply for my UK student visa! Some of you know what happened with my visa issue, I applied and it got REJECTED!! Yah!!
I started loosing hope for going to UK to get my BSc degree, but my dad didn’t. He kept trying to get solutions for that issue and then I applied again and I GOT ITJ. Anyway I left after 10 days of I got my visa. It’s my first time to go to Europe so I was nervous all the time! I don’t want to leave my family and friends and live away from them, but on the other hand one of my dreams is to get my degree from UK.

On the day of departure my parents were crying all day, so I said: Fine, I’m not leavingJ, so they stopped crying lol… I was serious at that time, because I’m still there with them and they are crying, what will happen after few days and I’m not there and they missed meJ.

Anyway I went to the airport early, had my check in. And I was so happy because 3 friends came and say Goodbye, They really made my day. Although I didn’t know those friends for longtime, but they came! On the other side I was feeling bad since I was expecting other friends to come or to call but they didn’t do either that or this. Thanks Petra, Fawzy and Lucie.

My trip To UK took quite long than it was expected, where it was expected to arrive Heathrow Airport after 9 and half hours, but it took almost 11 hours to arrive. After I arrived Heathrow Airport I had a mission to find my way to Derby.
Before I leave Qatar I spent 10 days looking for ways to go from Heathrow Airport to Derby. So Once I went out of the Airport I started looking for the Underground, which took me to the Train Station. I took the train to Derby train station. Although I was so tried from the long trip on the Airplane and I was fasting. But I really enjoyed the mission to derby. I took the taxi to the University Hall Residence at the reception I meet very nice students, One of them became a good friend of mine, she is half Venezuelan and half German, she is engaged to a very nice guy. Anyway I spent almost a week alone in the hall J no other students there since I arrived earlier than the Students.

One of those nights, I was smoking my cigarette down in the garden, it was really dark and suddenly someone started saying in Arabic “El-Salamo ‘Alikom”. I was like, I think I’m dreaming since no one is here in the Hall and even though who will talk to me in ArabicJ. But it turned out that it was a Jordanian guy who was studying Masters of Law, we started chatting for about 2 hours, and then he invited me for Iftar the following day. I spent the rest of Ramadan with that guy and other 4.

The city is very quite, nice and it looks like Doha somehow, A lot of Roundabouts. But it’s very cold! I started making friends here, the people here are nice. I started walking in the town during the first week, and I got lost 100 timesJ.

The university is Beautiful it has 4 campuses, 3 of them are here in Derby and 1 in Buxton. But I will say that College of the North Atlantic-Qatar is much bigger than the 4 campuses together.

Every night, there is a party lol, something that I’m not used to at all! So I attend some and I skip some.

I took a lot of pictures, I will post them soonJ.

Sorry for the long post, and I promise that I will try to update my blog weekly.
